Jared has consistently fought to bring the perspective of future generations into the policy conversation, and he strongly believes that his job in government is to leave the world a better place for future generations. He then ran for election to retain the seat in 2021. Jared has served as a District 4 County Councilmember since April of 2020 when he was appointed to fill the seat of his predecessor. In the State House, Jared served on the Transportation, Environment and Energy Committee, as well as the College and Workforce Development Committee. In 2018, Jared was elected to the State House of Representatives in the 44 th Legislative District. Following his stint in private industry, Jared went on to begin his career in public service in 2014 when he was appointed to the Mill Creek Planning Commission, he was later elected to the Mill Creek City Council. They live in Mill Creek with their three young children: Kallen, Sloane, and Olivia.Īfter graduating from the University of Washington, Jared spent time working in the private sector as a licensed small business and investment banker. Jared and his wife, Krystal, were both born and raised in South Snohomish County and are proud products of the Everett Public school system, where Krystal currently works as a middle school teacher. During my tenure, I have made it my personal goal to create and support affordable early learning service options for everyone. Throughout the journey of starting my own family in Snohomish County, I quickly realized how cost-prohibitive it can be for families to receive quality childcare and early learning services. In my role, I am dedicated to investing in early learning facilities and programs for families around the county. While we should be proud to live in such a desirable region, we must also be intentional in how we responsibly and sustainably plan for growth – this has been a priority area since first being elected to public office. Snohomish County is one of the fastest-growing counties in Washington and South County is the fastest-growing area within Snohomish County. I am honored to serve as your District 4 representative on the Snohomish County Council, and currently serving as the Chair of the Council. Click here for a map of the 4th district.
